Volkswagen Singapore launches Touran TDI
07 Mar 2014|7,194 views
Since its launch in 2010, the Volkswagen Touran has proven exceedingly popular with motorists in Singapore, thanks to its performance and versatility. Now there's even more choice for customers - the new Touran TDI has entered the market as the only German seven-seater MPV in the Category A segment.
The Touran TDI joins the petrol-powered Touran, Touran Comfort and Touran Sport models in the range. It is powered by a 1.6-litre TDI Clean Diesel engine with 105bhp and 250Nm of torque, the latter of which is available from just 1,500rpm.
In spite of its lively performance, the Touran TDI consumes just 4.6L/100km of fuel in the combined cycle. It also qualifies for a $10,000 CEVS rebate thanks to its extremely low CO2 emissions of 121g/km.
Paired with the frugal TDI engine is Volkswagen's seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG). Compared to conventional transmissions, the DSG provides far quicker gear shifts, keeping the engine working in its optimal rev range in all driving conditions.
As with all Touran models, the Touran TDI has an extraordinarily spacious and versatile interior. Should the need to transport large items arise, the Touran's generous loading capacity of up to 1,913 litres ensures that nothing needs to be left behind. Standard equipment on the Touran TDI include 17-inch 'Blade' alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, a 'Rear Assist' rear view camera and a touchscreen audio system.
The new Touran TDI can travel more than 1,300km on a single tank of diesel to help drivers and families bring back popular Malaysian dishes. Over the weekend of 8th to 9th March at Volkswagen Centre Singapore (Alexandra), delicious favourites from across the border (Ipoh hor fun, Malacca chicken rice ball and Kuala Lumpur bak kut teh) will be served.
Prices start from $153,800 with COE.
The Volkswagen showroom opening hours are:
Saturday: 8:30am to 7:00pm
Sunday: 10:00am to 7:00pm
