Volkswagen Group Singapore has launched the new Golf 1.4 TSI featuring a 1.4-litre turbocharged engine that puts out 122bhp and 200Nm of torque at just 1500rpm. Designed to replace the outgoing Golf 1.6 FSI, it also comes with the world's first 7-speed DSG gearbox. This enables the Vee-dub's ratios to be well spaced enough to accelerate the car quickly - 100km/h is breached from rest in a quoted 9.4 seconds!
Volkswagen also claims frugal mileage figures of just 7.7 litres per 100km (urban cycle), with highway figures going as low as 4.9 l/100km.
Prices start from $85,800 with COE.
