After just 7 days of collecting my new XPENG G6 Air on 9 October 2026, the car suddenly lost all drive power while I was driving. The car displayed the warning: "Power is lost soon. Pull over now", but it immediately became immobilised, leaving my family and me stranded in the middle of the road. What made the situation even more concerning was that the built-in SOS emergency function also failed when we attempted to use it. For a brand-new car, this was an extremely distressing and unexpected experience. XPENG's diagnosis and proposed solution: Following the incident, XPENG informed me in writing that its technical team had identified an inverter-core fault. Its proposed solution was to replace the inverter core with a new component and that the replacement part was expected to arrive in the first week of November, with the vehicle to be returned no later than 13 November 2026. XPENG also explained that the SOS issue was related to Singapore's telecommunications network configuration and that it was working with the local provider to address the matter. In the meantime, I was advised to use its roadside assistance hotline. What I am asking XPENG to do: My preferred resolution is a one-to-one replacement with another brand-new XPENG G6 Air, including the paint-protection coating I purchased. Alternatively, I would consider rescission of the purchase and a full refund covering the vehicle and associated items. I have formally raised the matter with XPENG Singapore and its headquarters in China, and have lodged a complaint with the Consumers Association of Singapore (CASE). I am still hoping XPENG will take this matter seriously and offer a fair resolution. I will update this review when XPENG provides a final resolution.
