Jaecoo 6 Electric - Jaecoo J6 - Surprisingly Refined, Surprisingly Fun (From a First-Time Owner in SG)
Just collected my Jaecoo J6 and wanted to share some first impressions for anyone considering it.
I came from a Japanese sedan, so moving into a Chinese SUV was honestly a big mental shift for me. I did my homework, test drove a few competitors, and eventually landed on the J6 because of the overall value proposition and how it felt on the road.
Exterior & Presence
The design is bold without being over-the-top. It has that boxy, modern SUV stance that stands out in carparks. Definitely gets second looks. Build quality feels solid when closing the doors - no hollow tin-can vibes.
Interior & Tech
This is where it really surprised me. The cabin feels premium for the price point. The screen is responsive, UI is intuitive, and the 360 camera is super helpful in tight SG carparks. Seats are comfortable and supportive. The cabin insulation is decent too - quieter than I expected.
Drive & Comfort
Power delivery is smooth, especially in city driving. Steering is light enough for daily commuting but still stable at higher speeds. Suspension handles road bumps and uneven surfaces fairly well. It's tuned more for comfort than sport, which suits daily driving in Singapore.
Space & Practicality
Plenty of headroom and legroom. Boot space is practical for groceries, gym bags, and family use. Rear seats are comfortable for passengers, not just "token back seats."
Value for Money
For the price, you get a lot of features that are optional add-ons in other brands. Safety tech, cameras, big infotainment screen, modern design. That was a big factor in my decision.
Things to Note
- Brand is still relatively new in Singapore, so long-term reliability remains to be seen.
- After-sales support will be something I'm monitoring closely.
- Fuel consumption still too early to comment.
Overall, first impressions are very positive. It feels like a well-equipped, comfortable SUV that punches above its price point. Looking forward to seeing how it performs long term.... Read More
