Traffic jam along Upper Serangoon Road after steamroller falls from trailer

An accident involving a trailer and the steamroller it was carrying caused a traffic jam along Upper Serangoon Road on Thursday (6th July) evening. A photo sent in by a Straits Times reader showed the fallen steamroller blocking the middle lane.
The right-most lane was also partially blocked. The Land Transport Authority first tweeted about the accident, which occurred after Hougang Street 21, at 5:36pm. It warned motorists to expect congestion till Tampines Road.
When ST visited the scene at around 7:00pm, the middle lane - with the steamroller still present - had been cordoned off. ST has contacted the police, which said it is aware of the accident, for more information.
