Yokohama expands its BluEarth tyre series with the GT AE51

YHI Corporation (Singapore) Pte Ltd, exclusive distributor of Yokohama tyres in Singapore, has expanded its BluEarth tyre series with a new product offering.

The BluEarth-GT AE51 was developed as a grand touring tyre for mid-range sedans. It is designed to deliver excellent all-around performance, superior manoeuvrability, and good ride comfort, while retaining the BluEarth line's environment-friendly features.

The 'GT' in the tyre's name takes after the Grand Tourers - cars specifically designed for long-distance driving - and the GT AE51 likewise delivers the powerful and stable driving performance expected of a long-distance touring car. The BluEarth-GT AE51 is also designed to provide greater fuel efficiency while sustaining the excellent wet-grip performance that the BluEarth-A tyres are known for.

The BluEarth-GT AE51 features a specially developed asymmetric tread pattern that delivers a comfortable ride and excellent steering stability. Furthermore, the tread pattern's lightning grooves and blade-cut sipes contribute to its superior performance on wet surfaces.

The tyre's high-rigidity construction and its tread profile deliver a uniform contact surface to help realise a more powerful and comfortable drive, while fuel efficiency has been improved thanks to a two-layer tread compound that suppresses energy loss due to heat generation, a side profile that reduces distortion, and a dimple shoulder design that facilitates heat dissipation.

The BluEarth-GT AE51 will be available from Yokohama Authorised Dealers in a range of different sizes ranging from 14-inches to 19-inches.
