Jeep has brought an 8.5m-tall 'Mountain' to the New York Auto Show in order to demonstrate the unparalleled off-road abilities of its vehicles.
The demonstration site, called 'Camp Jeep', gives the show attendees a chance to experience some of the abilities of the brand's vehicles, and also serves to demonstrate some of the rigorous testing that they endure before reaching customers.
Attendees to the New Your Auto Show will be able to ride in Jeep vehicles as they are driven through the various obstacles In addition to the Jeep Mountain, obstacles at the event also include a ground clearance stair climb, which demonstrates Jeep vehicles' ground clearance and traction ability as they climb over a 1.5m staircase. A Trail Rated Pass also allows the cars to demonstrate their three-wheeling by navigating over a 15m-long, 2.4m-talll obstacle, that forces the vehicle to articulate from side to side.
There's also an extreme breakover obstacle which will have attendees on the edge of their seats as Jeep vehicles navigate a 25-degree uneven plane until one wheel loses contact with the surface.
And yes, attendees to the show will be able to sit in the Jeeps as they make their way through these obstacles, all driven by a Jeep product specialist of course. Vehicles participating in the show include the Wrangler Rubicon 4xe and Rubicon 392, all new Grand Cherokee 4xe, Jeep Gladiator Mojave and Rubicon, and Grand Cherokee L.
Since 2004, more than 425,000 New York auto show attendees have experienced this ultimate off-road driving course.
