Porsche and Audi merge fast charging network in Japan

Audi and Porsche and joining forces in an effort to build up the 150kW charging network in Japan.

The collaborative effort, called the Premium Charging Alliance, will merge both the Porsche and Audi rapid charging network, by incorporating the dealer and city networks of both marques.

This means that owners of either Porsche or Audi all-electric vehicles will be able to utilise both firm's rapid charging stations starting from July 2022, which will comprise of 50 Porsche Turbocharger units at 41 locations and the 52 units nationwide from Audi Japan, totalling 102 rapid chargers at the end of 2022.

The Porsche Turbocharger rapid charging units currently offer the most powerful 150kW class output of any charger in Japan and can charge the battery of the Taycan to 80% in 24 minutes. The 50 units in operation in Japan currently comprise of 37 units at 33 Porsche Centers, with another 12 units at seven locations as a part of the urban charging infrastructure, and one unit at the Porsche Experience Center.
