Harley-Davidson has announced the return of its Chapter of the Year contest across the Asia Emerging Markets. The objective of the contest is to increase engagement levels amongst the 9000-member strong Harley Owners Group community and Harley-Davidson dealers in the countries. The company also hopes to increase renewals within the Harley Owners Group.
More than 50 chapters are expected to participate in a drive to increase riding and engagement at their local level and compete for the title of best Chapter in AEM. The contest will run from 1 July to 31 December 2022.
Motivated by the success of the first Chapter of the Year contest, which was held between July and December 2021 in Thailand, Harley-Davidson has subsequently expanded the contest to other markets which include Thailand, South Korea, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.
The scoring system of the Chapters contest is based on categories including the number of monthly rides, rally attendance and partnerships. Riders will also be invited to participate in specific challenges and win exclusive patches with their engagement contributing to their Chapter's score. The winners will be announced online and subsequently receive awards in person at a Harley-Davidson owners group event in 2023.
Winners of the contest will also receive a honorary plaque with the title of Chapter of the Year. Individual riders will receive Chapter of the Year patches as well as plaque awards. Winners of individual trophies such as Chapter Manager of the Year will receive individual trophies, and the winning chapter will be featured on the Wall of Fame.
