Evolution EV from Mitsubishi aiming for victory at hill climb

The i-MiEV Evolution borrows major components from the electric Colt i-Miev housed in a custom shell. The racing-specific body has been developed in cooperation with several other companies, and uses a tube-frame chassis and a carbon fibre cowl among other technical features specially designed to reduce weight and improve aerodynamics.

Three motors are present with a 321bhp power output, one to drive the front and two motors drive the rear wheels to provide superior performance and handling. Could the next Mitsubishi Lancer Evo be an electric hybrid like the Fisker Karma then?

The Evolution showcases Mitsubishi’s advanced EV control and component technologies. Mitsubishi will use the technical knowledge gathered from the Evolution for future EV models that will have superior durability and reliability. So it is similar to what Ferrari does with its FXX and 599XX then.

Piloting the car would be Mr. Hiroshi Masuoka, the first Japanese driver to post consecutive overall victories in the Dakar Rally. He also serves as the team manager.
