This allows for its raised ribs to maintain a uniform contact point, as the thread is able to mould itself onto the road surface, increasing grip and stability.

A part of its thread pattern also focuses on dry performance. Its outer thread blocks are wider, allowing for more road contact, increasing grip. These innovations that focus on the tyre's contact patch with the road ensures improved levels of stability and grip.

No compromise in the wet and on the road

Having a tyre with increased grip and handling properties certainly are attributes expected from a performance tyre.

But using the Advan Sport V105s doesn't mean there is a compromise in normal driving situations, either.

In the wet, the new Advanced Sport Compound 5S offers enhanced road surface adhesion in wet conditions, as it offers a new dispersing agent to better disperse microsilica in the compound.

While the outer thread focuses on improving dry performance, the inner thread features an increased groove area that is effective in water dispersion, further maximising wet weather performance.

These improvements are great, but a tyre used for the road should be a comfortable and quiet one, too. Hence, Silent sipes are part of the V105's multi-pitch thread design, separating different thread blocks into different sizes, supressing tyre noise.
