Rolls-Royce appoints new Head of Interior Design

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced the appointment of Daniel Starke (extreme left) as the new Head of Interior Design, replacing Alan Sheppard (extreme right). Sheppard moves to a new role with Rolls-Royce as Head of Colour, Materials and Accessories Design, leading the expanding colour, trim and accessories team.
Starke began his career in the automotive industry with Volkswagen and Audi, before moving to the Interior Design team at BMW in 2001. He was appointed Head of Interior Design for BMW i in 2009, with responsibility for the interior design of the BMW i3 and the i8.
Starke was born in Subotica, former Yugoslavia, and brought up in the Netherlands. He holds a degree in Automotive Design from the University of Applied Science, Pforzheim, Germany and is proficient in several languages including English, German and Dutch.
Speaking from the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood in West Sussex, Director of Design Giles Taylor (second from left) said, "We are delighted to welcome Daniel to the Rolls-Royce family. His considerable design experience, proven track record and contemporary thinking are an ideal match for the world’s leading luxury company. He will be a very valuable addition to the Rolls‑Royce design team."
