A group of 40 cabbies gathered together and showed their support for Hair for Hope 2014 by shaving their heads to a close crop on Tuesday. The move by the cab drivers was part of a satellite event organised by CabbyCare Charity Group, for the first time, in support of the charity fund raiser.
Organised annually by the Children's Cancer Foundation, Hair for Hope aims to raise funds and awareness about childhood cancer through head shaving events. The foundation hopes to encourage at least 6,500 people to 'make a bald statement' this year in addition to raising around $3.6 million.
Last year, more than 7,000 people took part which raised around $4 million.
