7 Series officially launched here!

The new BMW 7 Series has finally landed on our shores. As expected, it's brimming with technology.
For starters, the new 7 Series will know when it's due for a servicing appointment, and will automatically initiate a toll-free call to Performance Motors and send the relevant data required for them to assess the type of service required. Parts will be readied in time for your arrival and all you need to do then is confirm the appointment date with a service advisor.
A new iDrive system has also been introduced, featuring a 10.2-inch screen and additional buttons to further improve its user-friendliness. There's also a list of useful options like the Head-Up Display, Lane Departure Warning, Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go and even a night vision system.
Customers who prefer the long wheelbase versions - 740Li and 750Li - can put their mind at ease when it comes to tackling tight turns. The cars are equipped with Integral Active Steering, which helps to turn the back wheels in the opposite direction to the fronts, thus providing a better turning radius.
The new range of 7 Series begins with the 740i, which features a 2,972 cc twin turbo inline-six engine with 326 hp. Accelerating from standstill to a hundred only takes 6.0 seconds. Prices start from S$318,800 for the 740i and SS$338,800 for the long wheelbased 740Li.
The 750i has a twin turbocharged V8 engine that puts out 407 hp and 600 Nm of torque. Zero-to-hundred takes just 5.2 seconds and it costs S$368,800 (S$428,800 for 750Li). Not that such performance figures are regularly required in cars like these, but you never know when you might need to make a quick getaway from some baddies, or at least pretend to. Oh, and did we mention that the 750Li comes with massaging seats?
