Alfa Romeo 4C concept wins award

With the production of the Alfa Romeo 4C sports car getting close, the Italian automotive company showed the concept car finished in a metallic cherry red colour during the exclusive Concorso d'Elegance Villa d'Este.
The mid-engined Alfa sports coupe gained much fanfare and attention of the visitors at the show and also won the ‘most beautiful machine’ award in the Concept and Prototype class. A rather fitting award we must say, as nearly all Alfa’s regardless of time and age and known for their looks more than their performance.
The Alfa coupe is powered by a 1.7-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which produces up to 232bhp. Alfa Romeo claims the 4C to weigh less than 900kg and promises a century sprint under five seconds before maxing out at 250km/h. Production will begin from May of 2013.
