Nissan’s all-new Frontier Pro has debuted at the 2025 Auto Shanghai, becoming the brand's first-ever PHEV and first-ever electrified pickup truck. The five-seater Frontier Pro will go on sale in China later in 2025. Nissan has said that it will also be exported outside of China, with the targeted markets to be announced in the future.
At its front, the Nissan brand logo is illuminated in vibrant white. Parallel to the bonnet line, five LED light elements, spaced apart, accentuate the width of the truck. All Frontier Pro variants will ride on 18-inch alloy wheels as standard.
Inside, the cabin features a 10-inch LCD instrument panel and 14.6-inch infotainment screen. Front seat heating, ventilation, and seat-back massage are also available.
A powertrain featuring a 1.5-litre engine and a transmission-mounted electric motor powers the Frontier Pro, delivering an output of over 300kW (402bhp) and up to 800Nm of torque. For the Chinese market, it is targeted to deliver up to 135km of EV-only range.
The Frontier Pro represents the second of nine New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) the brand plans to launch in China by Q3 2027, with the first being the Dongfeng Nissan N7.
The all-electric sedan, a product of the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture, features Nissan's V-Motion design signature at its front. Frameless doors and flush handles on its side support a clean, modern aesthetic. It is equipped with 19-inch wheels and is available in six exterior hues that can be paired with two interior options.
Two battery options are available for the N7: 58kWh and 73kWh. Both will feature a 400V architecture, with the former offering a minimum of 510km of range and the latter offering up to 635km.
All variants are front-wheel drive and feature a single electric motor with output ranging from 160kW (215bhp) to 200kW (268bhp). Maximum torque is 305Nm regardless of variant.
Inside, front-row occupants can indulge in 'zero-pressure' seating with an AI-based, adaptive posture system. The seats also feature 12-point massage functionality and for drivers, a pneumatic cushion mechanism that provides optimal leg comfort and support.
The Dongfeng Nissan N7 will go on sale later this month (April 2025).
