Audi Sport Asia has announced that German driver Markus Winkelhock will join celebrated Chinese motorsport pioneer Cheng Congfu and Yu Kuai in the official 2025 Audi Sport Asia driver pool.
During his 17-year tenure as an official Audi Sport driver, Winkelhock scored victories for Audi in major, blue riband endurance competitions, including the Nurburgring 24 Hours, the 24 Hours of Spa, and the Indianapolis 8 Hours.
Combining in a two-pronged assault on the 2025 GT World Challenge Asia, Cheng and Yu will team up with FAW Audi Sport Asia Team Phantom, while Winkelhock will join Chinese privateer Bao Jinlong behind the wheel of an Audi Sport Asia Team Phantom R8 LMS.
All three drivers can look forward to a busy 2025 season across Asia, with their main focus on the forthcoming GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS. The 2025 GT World Challenge Asia will kick off at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia in April 2025, with stops in Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, and China.
