Audi, one of the founding partners of the Greentech Festival (GTF), has helped bring the event to Singapore for the second year running.
The GTF, Europe's largest sustainability festival, was co-founded by Marco Voigt and former Formula One driver Nico Rosberg.
It hosts companies, keynote speakers and panel discussions, with the aim of talking about the latest sustainability solutions. There are hands-on boot camps, too.
This year's event, which featured 25 distinguished speakers, took place from 23-24 November at Gardens by the Bay. As a founding partner, Audi provided a fleet of 10 cars from its fully electric e-tron model lineup to ferry speakers and guests to and from the venue.
Audi also took the opportunity to display the Q8 e-tron at GTF. The carmaker says that the updated model reflects its commitment towards carbon neutrality, as it is produced with recyclates for a more "sustainable and circular supply chain."
Another Audi highlight was the Closed Loop Water Exhibit, which showcases the brand's evolving supply chain and production processes. It was first shown at GTF Berlin earlier this year.
There were two Green Award winners at GTF Singapore 2023. Godelmann, which was recognised for its Generation 4.0 ecological surfacing material, took home the Building prize. Formo, a company producing animal-free dairy, was the winner in the Food & Beverage category.
The Special Award was given to Antoinette Taus. The Filipino-American actress, who advocates the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leads several programmes focussed on climate action, women empowerment, sustainability, and the circular economy.
She is also a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and the founder of CORA (Communities Organised for Resource Allocation), a nonprofit organisation dedicated to sustainable development through various programmes.
Markus Schuster, Managing Director for Audi Singapore, said, "We take pride in our continued partnership with Greentech Festival. As we transition to more sustainable models, we are heartened to be working alongside a growing community of leaders, organisations and platforms like GTF to forge a greener future in this region."
He adds, "Audi's path to net zero and sustainable mobility is an ongoing commitment, and we hope to continue inspiring and empowering others to join us on this journey."
