Audi releases limited edition R8 for China

With a population in excess of 1.3 billion, Audi should not have any problems finding 80 uber rich people to sell off the limited R8 China Edition to.

With the booming economy and the quickly rising number of millionaires in the East Asian country, it is only apt that Audi has decided to produce an 80 piece limited R8 China edition.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre V10 that's good for 511bhp and 530Nm of torque, propelling the R8 China Edition to 100km/h in just 3.9 seconds

In a bid to respect Chinese practices and culture, the cars will be numbered 1 to 99, because the Chinese consider the number '4' to be unlucky - thus causing Audi to eliminate it altogether.

Available exclusively in Malibu Blue or Suzuka Grey (interesting name for two region based colours not from China), the special edition is based on the pre-facelifted R8 V10 with the added styling cues of the R8 GT flagship like front bumper winglets, contrasting side blades, carbon fibre mirrors, rear wing and the interior finished in part leather, part Alcantara with carbon fibre trimmings.

Wouldn't it be great if we had a Singapore Special edition R8 - Red finished body with a white sideblade?
