Audi unveils its R15 TDI race car for Le Mans

The R15 TDI is the successor of Audi's famed R10 TDI, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race three times from 2006 to 2008. The design livery of the R15 TDI features a liberal dose of red to contrast with the silver of the R10.

"We wanted to add a dash of surprise when the Audi leaves the pits at Le Mans™and with a little rock 'n' roll for good measure," said Audi Design Team members Markus Auerbach and Tobias Drews.

The R15 TDI will be run by Audi Sport Team Joest, and the car, with the chassis number 202, will make its debut at the Le Castellet 8 Hours race on April 11. It will also participate at the free practice sessions of the event on April 9 and 10.
