Bentley is expanding the total number of 'Bentley Bees' at its Excellence Centre for Honey Production in Crewe from approximately 600,000 to over one million via the installation of seven new bee hives, all to mark World Bee Day.
This additions will bring the colony at Crewe to a total of 17 bee hives, and Bentley is hoping that this year will bring in yet another record honey harvest and surpass the total of 1,000 jars produced in 2022. The bees are part of the firm's Beyond100 strategy, aiding to pollinate the on-site flora and bring wider benefits to the surrounding Cheshire countryside, as Bentley focuses on making its campus even more environmentally friendly as it strives to become industry leaders in sustainable luxury mobility.
Bentley is further encouraging its colleagues to enhance local biodiversity by handing out wildflower seeds for them to plant in their communities. Other activities include handmade bird and bat boxes dotted around the campus by Bentley colleagues, hedgehog highways, our expanding colleague allotments and much more. These initiatives help support local wildlife and enhance natural beauty in local areas, and Bentley states they additionally boost mental wellness for the staff at its site through the provision of sufficient green spaces.
