Bentley to roll out fully organic leather option

You will soon be able to get your Bentley upholstered in fully organic leather.

The firm has announced that it will introduce a fully organic Olive Tan leather, another initiative under its Beyond100 journey to become the leader in sustainable luxury mobility. The new material will feature for the first time in a new Bentley model that will be presented at Monterey Car Week come 18 August 2023.

The new leather is generated via a tanning process that uses an organic by-product of the olive oil industry, and is additionally free of harmful metals, minerals, or aldehydes. Use of this tanning process is also said to consume less water, while delivering a leather that is soft, and in Bentley's own words, worthy of the most sought-after luxury car brand.

Bentley already uses leather hides that are a by-product of the meat industry and highly traceable. The olive mill wastewater-derived leather is set to be offered as an option across Bentley's product range.
