BMW Asia has announced the arrival and availability of the much awaited BMW 316i in Singapore. Thanks to Efficient Dynamics technology - the 316i boasts to be the most fuel efficient vehicle within its class with just 5.9L/100km. The 316i is powered by a four-cylinder 1.6-litre petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo technology bundled to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This allows the car to offer optimum power without compromising on fuel efficiency while emitting just 137g/km of CO2 emissions.
Lightweight materials reduce the weight of the vehicle without compromising on safety and strength, yet they also offer the signature Bimmer driving dynamics. BMW is the first carmaker to offer an eight-speed transmission in its product segment that is linked to the Auto Start-Stop function.
Despite being an entry level model, it does not compromise on quality. The 316i can be ordered with either the Sport Line or Luxury Line trim. Standard novelties include the Driving Experience Control with ECO PRO mode, Xenon lights and Cruise Control with braking function, among others.
"The arrival of the new BMW 316i will be addressing the need of customers on the lookout for a car in the small-car COE category (Category A), specifically to those in search of a premium mid-sized sedan capable of the sheer driving pleasure that our famed BMW 3 Series is renowned for," said Mr Neil Fiorentinos, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.
