"BMW Motorsport and ZF enjoy a close relationship, which stretches back several years. ZF is a big name in the automobile industry, and an important and reliable partner to us in DTM, and beyond. We are pleased to continue our strong and successful partnership in the 2014 season," said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
Norbert Odendahl, Managing Director at ZF Race Engineering, added the ZF 8HP production gearbox, designed for use on the race track, is further proof of just how well-suited ZF's road car products are for use in a racing environment.
ZF and BMW enjoy a historic partnership at the highest stage, as both firms cooperate with BMW's road car range in addition to developing customised racing clutches and shock absorbers for the DTM and the 24hr race at the Nurburgring as Official Partner BMW Motorsport. The experience gained is passed on for the consumer industry - providing several advantages for each and every BMW driver.
In addition to DTM, ZF partners BMW Motorsport in the new BMW M235i Racing Cup class, which sees BMW drivers and teams go head to head in the BMW M235i Racing within the VLN Endurance Championship.
BMW Motorsport and ZF Friedrichshafen AG (commonly abbreviated to ZF) have extended their long term technical partnership, as the latter will once again be involved as Official Partner for the 2014 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) season - with eight DTM specific BMW M4's battling for points and victories.
