BMW reorganises its design team

The BMW Group has announced that it is reorganising its Design division.
Led by Adrian van Hooydonk, the new team is said to be focused on the firm's transformation, however, colour and material design will be new consolidated across all brands. The BMW brand team will also be divided into two studios, with more emphasis set to be placed on the topic of 'Advanced Design'.
New to the BMW Group Design team is Maximilian Missoni, who will now oversee the design of BMW's mid-size and luxury class models as well as those under BMW Alpina. Missoni is said to have held managerial positions at Volkswagen and Volvo Cars on top of serving as Head of Design at Polestar.
Oliver Heilmer, meanwhile, the previous Head of MINI Design, will be responsible for the design of all compact and mid-size BMW models going forward, as well as BMW M.
For the new cross-brand department for colour and material design is Claudia Braun. Braun has already been managing colour and materials for the BMW brand since April 2024, and bring with her experience from working with firms including Porsche, Daimler AG, and Volvo.
Domagoj Dukec, formerly Head of the BMW Design Studio, will now assume responsibility for Rolls-Royce Design, including is bespoke and coachbuild functions, while Anders Warming, previously Head of Design Rolls-Royce, will oversee all Advanced Design topics, as well as the BMW Group Designworks subsidiary.
Holger Hampf, Head of BMW Group Designworks, will now be in charge of design for the MINI brand, and Christian Bauer will continue to lead the digital customer experience into a new era across all brands.
