The performance of a high revving six-cylinder, the pure driving experience offered by a six-speed manual gearbox, and the joy of having the sun on your skin and the wind in your hair. All these are promised with the new BMW Z4 Pure Impulse edition.
Based on the BMW Z4 M40i, the special edition car is the only car from BMW where you'll be able to combine a six-cylinder with a manual gearbox, without having to shell out for a full fat M car that is.
Shop for the BMW Z4 Pure Impulse edition in the U.S.A, and it will be available in a Sanremo Green metallic, while those in Europe will be able to get theirs in Frozen Deep Green metallic. Of course, the rest of the colours offered for the regular Z4 will also be available for this special edition car. These will match the car's mirror caps, which come in gloss black, and M Sport brakes, which come with red brake callipers.
In the cabin, the car also gets its M gearshift lever wrapped in a model-specific sleeve as well as model-specific sports seats wrapped in Vernasca leather trim in Cognac and complete with black M piping.
And you'll need those sports seats, as the BMW Z4 Pure Impulse edition comes equipped with a 335bhp 3.0-litre engine that also develops a total of 500Nm of torque. This combination allows the car to hit 100km/h from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds (if you pick yours with the eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission your car will do the same sprint in 4.5 seconds).
And you're sure to be able to carry plenty of speed into the corners.
The BMW Z4 Pure Impulse edition comes equipped not only with the aforementioned M Sport brakes, but also gets variable sport steering, an M Sport differential at the rear axle, and adaptive M suspension with electronically controlled dampers.
The latter not only comes assisted with model-exclusive auxiliary springs at the front and rear axle, but also gets a specially reinforced anti-roll bar clamp at the front. The software tuning of the electronically controlled dampers, have also been recalibrated with a model-exclusive setup to account for these new changes, as well as to ensure that the car delivers the handling characteristics expected from driving purists.
BMW states that it currently plans to sell the BMW Z4 Pure Impulse edition in Germany, other European markets and the U.S.A.
