BMW Asia has just unveiled the BMW i7 Singapore Icons, a one-off luxury sedan specially created to commemorate Singapore's 60th anniversary and BMW Asia's 40th anniversary.
Showcased in the corner of the BMW Eurokars Experience Centre and backed up against the full-length windows of the showroom - this was the perfect spot. A healthy dose of the late-afternoon natural light hit the Madeira Red BMW i7 Singapore Icons just right, highlighting the depth of this Rolls-Royce derived paint.
But the opulent tones of rich red madeira wine and dark cherry-black hues aren't the only traits that set this particular i7 eDrive50 apart from the others.
The Singapore Icons logo has been laser-etched onto the Hofmeister kink, while the car sits on intricately designed 21-inch wheels
On the exterior, the Singapore Icons logo has been laser etched onto the Hofmeister kink, emphasising the exclusivity of the car on the most iconic design element on BMW models. The i7 Singapore Icons also rides on a set of BMW Individual 21-inch wheels featuring an intricate 20-spoke design with two-tone Bi-colour and diamond-cut finish, adding presence to this unique creation.
Upholstered in BMW Individual Smoke White Merino leather, the classy interior contrasts with the deep red on the exterior; the Singapore Icons design has also been embroidered into all four headrests
Open the doors and you will be presented with a BMW Individual Smoke White Merino leather interior - soft, robust and unblemished. The Singapore Icons design has also been custom-stitched and embroidered into all four headrests in Alaska Grey.
The dashboard houses perhaps the most exclusive touch on the i7 Singapore Icons: A metallic inlay featuring seven of Singapore's world-renowned icons.
The metallic inlay has been uninterruptedly laser-cut from a single piece of 25.7cm-wide metal, which has a thickness of less than 1mm. Seamlessly integrated into the natural fine-wood in oak grey metallic, then clear lacquer-coated to result in a flawless finish, this piece blends artistic interpretation with masterful craftsmanship to result in elegance.
"Planning for this masterpiece began 18 months ago and was a labour of love," said Lars Nielsen, Managing Director, BMW Group Asia. "It is a celebration of icons and was created to be one itself."
Created to honour Singapore, the BMW i7 Singapore Icons exhibits the best that BMW has to offer - and has already found a lucky owner. This one-off electric luxury sedan has been purchased by Mr Choo Wai Luen, owner of Kwong Cheong Thye Pte Ltd, to celebrate his business' 133rd anniversary in 2025.
"Every time I look at this masterpiece, I'm reminded of how far we have come as a nation and how far my family and I have come in building our business," said Mr Choo. "My family will drive the Singapore Icons with pride and joy, knowing that it represents something special to us, to BMW, and our country."
