Brabus has unveiled its latest creation, a large coupe, in honour of former co-founder Bodo Buschmann, who passed away in 2018. And the limited-edition model is aptly named "Bodo".
The brand says this also fulfils one of Buschmann's lifelong dreams, which was to build a large coupe that is "progressive, bold, effortless in its presence, powerful, and undeniably Brabus".
Following the aim of reaching a top speed of 360km/h, the Brabus Bodo's entire body was constructed from high-strength carbon fibre with a focus on aerodynamic efficiency. Its face is defined by unique LED matrix headlights and its radiator grille with a total of 13 vertical slats. At higher speeds, the rear spoiler automatically extends in multiple stages and continuously adapts its position to aerodynamic demands.
In addition, the "77" logo positioned under the rear window commemorates the year 1977, when Buschmann founded Brabus almost half a century ago.
Powering the limited-edition Bodo is a hand-built 5.2-litre V12 biturbo engine, engineered according to the latest technological standards and featuring the marque's high-performance turbo system.
This allows it to deliver an output of 986bhp and 1,200Nm of torque. The Bodo is also able to complete the century sprint in just three seconds and is, of course, electronically limited to a top speed of 360km/h.
And in keeping with its Piano Black exterior finish, the Bodo's cabin is trimmed in smooth black leather and contrasting black Nubuck leather, underscored by a selection of carbon fibre elements. Highlights include the embroidered signature of the namesake integrated into the door panels and an embroidery of the dynamic silhouette of the Brabus Bodo on the seat backrest.
Brabus has said that the Bodo will be limited to 77 units worldwide, with annual production volumes ranging between 10 and 15 vehicles.
