According to Bloomberg, the Bugatti Galiber 16C will go into production by 2013 or 2014, after it was first unveiled in concept form nearly two years ago. The estimated market price for the Galiber 16C is expected to be around 1 million euros, or US$1.42 million USD.
The move indicates Bugatti's willingness to challenge the growing market of four-seater luxury models being created by major sports car makers. The Galiber 16C is expected to compete against the likes of the Porsche Panamera, Aston Martin Rapide and Ferrari FF, as well as a potential production version of the Lamborghini Estoque.
The Galiber 16C concept was designed as a five-door hatchback with a bespoke interior. The car was powered by an 8.0-litre 16-cylinder engine derived from the Veyron that produced between 789bhp and 986bhp.
