Car catches fire at on PIE near the CTE yesterday afternoon

A car that caught fire near the Central Expressway (CTE) yesterday afternoon was reduced to nothing but charred metal.
According to a Singapore Civil Defence (SCDF) spokesperson, the force received a call regarding a burning car at 3:47pm yesterday. The incident occured on the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards Jurong and entering the CTE. A fire engine, one red rhino and two fire bikes were deployed to the scene of fire and the flames were extinguished within five minutes by SCDF officers.
Thankfully no one was injured and an investigation to what caused the fire is still underway.
