Casio sponsors Team G-Shock / Kumho Tires for Formula Drift

Speaking at the event, Ken relates drifting to a type of self expression. He began at a very young age of 13, with his Dad as his mentor. He vividly remembers that it was over the renowned Japanese comic series Initial D that first caught his attention. Slowly, his passion for drifting grew and there were no looking back. Ken came in third place last year at the Formula Drift Asia Singapore.
To celebrate the special partnership, Casio has roped in the help of local streetwear label, Fresh Imp, to introduce a limited edition G-Shock piece. The timepiece, dubbed Casio G-Shock DW-6900CB-4DRIFTDS, is inspired by the motorsport, taking on a red and white colour theme which matches that of the Formula Drift race. Event logos are also prominently shown on the timepiece, following the random “stickerbomb” culture found on drift cars.

The timepiece is sold exclusively at the Casio G-Factory store at Bugis Junction, whilst stock last.
Casio Singapore is the proud sponsor of the G-Shock - Kumho Tires Drift Team for the Singapore leg of the Formula Drift Competition. Starring driver Ken Gushi, the team is one of the leading competitors in the drifting championship. The Singapore stage will be held 30June to 1 July at the Changi Exhibition Center. This marks the debut of a race team sponsorship on our local shores.
The partnership was inaugurated at the Casio G-Shock roadshow at Bugis Junction central fountain. Specially flew in for the launch was Formula Drift Star, Ken Gushi. Also present at the event was Ken's battle ride – the #26 Toyota Chaser.

Sharing his thought on the collaboration, Managing Director of Casio Singapore, Mr Takaya Hideki said, "Casio G-shock is thrilled to make our inaugural sponsorship to support Ken Gushi and his team in the Asian series of the 2012 Formula Drift competition,, as we believe that he is a brilliant representation of the G-shock brand identity, as an up and rising young personality displaying absolute tenacity to beat the odds in his career. We have strong faith that he will be able to outdo himself in this year's race and Casio is glad to be a partner in his climb to top spot on the podium."
