Citroen DS5 completes Citroen's DS line-up at Frankfurt

The DS5 was first seen in concept form at the Shanghai Motor Show earlier this year, and the production model will be launched at the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show. The DS5 slots in between the C4 and C5 in Citroen’s range, and joins the DS3 and DS4 in Citroen’s DS line-up.The DS5 is a five-door crossover that measures 4.52 metres in length, 1.50 metres in height and 1.85 metres in width, and is the first Citroen to feature the PSA Peugeot-Citroen group’s HYbrid4 full-hybrid diesel technology. The system combines a 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with an electric motor to deliver 200bhp, while also offering four wheel drive capability, a pure electric mode and an acceleration boost function open roads.
Aside from the DS5, Citroen will also showcase the DS3 ‘Ultra Prestige’ special edition that is said to celebrate the sales success of the DS3, with Citroen claiming 100,000 orders in the 18 months since its launch. The Ultra Prestige model features a special ‘Monogramme’ décor on the roof along with exclusive 17-inch charcoal-grey diamond-effect wheels and ‘Dark Chrome’ finishes on the wing mirrors, door strips and front grille. Inside, the seats and door panels are covered in 'watchstrap’ leather, with the dashboard strip trimmed in ‘Alpin Weiss’ white club leather, while the colour of the dials on the instrument cluster match the white of the interior detailing.
