Citroen has released the first images of a new Basalt Vision, a compact coupe SUV concept that is said to be a faithful vision of a future car that will join the brand's range in India and South America by the second half of 2024.
The new Basalt Vision is said to offer the exterior design dynamism of a coupe, alongside the robustness of an elevated SUV and the space of a five-door sedan. Citroen further states that the Basalt name will be retained on the production version of the vehicle.
The revealed images show the concept offering a confident stance alongside a high ground clearance and bonnet, as well as black wheel arches. The coupe-like rear of the car also ends in a rear that sports a pair of taillights not unlike those of the Citroen e-C3.
Development of the concept is said to have involved Citroen's teams at the headquarters of reach region, and the new model will join the Citroen C3 and C3 Aircross as the third model of the brand's C-Cubed programme designed to bring new cars that are configured specifically to meet the needs of customers in India and South America and to drive the firm's international growth.
