Citroen showcases REVOLTe electric hybrid concept car at Frankfurt

At 3680mm long, 1730mm wide and 1350mm tall, the REVOLTe is touted as an urban runabout with the utility for everyday use. The car's styling boasts lots of curves, with the curving bonnet, the wide wheel arches and a smooth roofline.

The rear-hinged "suicide" doors allow easy access into the cabin, and the interior is decked out in woven black leather, gleaming aluminium and crimson velvet to create a lush atmosphere. The REVOLTe has lots of room for three occupants, one in front and two behind, and the rear bench has been modelled on a sofa for maximum comfort. There is also enough space for a rear-facing child seat.

On-board technological features include a touch-sensitive screen and a gadget that recycles interior air in much the same way as a respiratory system. The folding roof is covered in solar panels which controls some interior functions and helps supply power to ease the load on the batteries.

The REVOLTe uses a rechargeable hybrid system with a small-capacity combustion engine, but can be run entirely on electric power, producing no emissions in the process.
