A hit-and-run accident at Mandai Road left a cyclist severely injured, with possible spinal injuries and a blood clot in her brain.
On Tuesday night, Madam Rosnah Rauaee was hit by a black Honda Accord as she was riding towards Yishun Avenue. The driver did not stop to render assistance.
Speaking to The Straits Times, Esther Lim reported an eyewitness account of the accident. She went after the car which caused the accident when she saw that the driver did not stop after hitting a cyclist. Despite several attempts by Lim, the male driver refused to stop, and Lim pulled over at a bus stop to call the Police.
Just then, the driver reappeared and told her that he did not hit anyone, although his windscreen was shattered. He then agreed to return to the accident scene, but drove off in the opposite direction instead of making a U-turn.
Madam Rosnah, a mother of two, was conscious when the ambulance took to her Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, and is under intensive care.
