Defender gets special Rugby World Cup edition

Land Rover has revealed a limited edition Rugby World Cup 2023 Defender.

Only 23 examples of the car will be made, all celebrating the 2023 Rugby World Cup and what is described as the shared values of robustness and strength shared between the car and the competition.

The limited edition car takes inspiration from the Defender Trophy Car made for the Rugby World Cup 2023, and is said to have been designed to highlight the Defender's tough design and extreme performance.

Accordingly, the car gets a Santorini Black exterior finish, contrasted with 22-inch Satin Gold alloy wheels and matching bumper inserts. On the side, illuminated tread plates will feature a 'Rugby World Cup France 2023' and '1 of 23' script. These will appear above unique puddle lamp graphics that utilise the Rugby World Cup 2023 logo.

In the cabin, the special Defender also comes finished with Ebony Windsor Leather alongside Ebony headlining. The front seats of the car also feature an embroidered Rugby World Cup 2023 logo on their headrests, while all seats get blue contrast stitching - a touch also applied to the mats of the car. The special edition car will only be available as a 110 variant, and will come with the 398bhp plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
