Exhilarating encounters at the Audi Driving Experience 2015

It was indeed an interesting way to introduce the updated Audi A6 family in Singapore in conjunction with the Audi Driving Experience. Along with several design tweaks, an updated engine range and the most advanced LED lighting technology, the facelifted A6 also features a suite of smart features to keep its driver connected.
The ten-day event, held from 12th to 21st June 2015 saw participants experiencing first-hand the engineering and performance that goes into each Audi model by getting behind the wheel of Audi's extensive range. Under the guidance of professional instructors, participants enjoyed a variety of thrilling exercises.
Urban Driving
The first part of the event took participants on a leisurely drive from the Audi Driving Experience Centre towards the Changi Exhibition Centre and besides experiencing the cars, they also got to sample the latest Audi Multi Media Interface's intelligent navigation system in the latest A6 Sedan and A7 Sportback as it guided them to their destination.
Skid and Drift Control
Upon arrival, participants were ushered to the first stop where Audi's legendary control and responsiveness were witnessed. First up was a test of traction control as the A6 Sedan and A7 Sportback were accelerated at full throttle over a slippery surface. There wasn't any loss of grip and the cars were then off into a specially designed course where their agility and acceleration were tested, especially in the 'quattro curve'.
Braking
The next exercise allowed participants to learn more about Audi's advanced braking systems that assists in dealing quickly and safely with emergency situations. Here, the A6 Sedan was accelerated to speeds of up to 80km/h and then the brakes were applied.
At the same time, drivers had to avoid the centre obstacle and choose either a left or right 'escape route'. Impressively, the cars were very nifty in their manoeuvres and no obstacles were 'injured' in the process.
Acceleration
The ultimate adrenaline rush was experienced in this station as a professional driver took participants on a fast acceleration taxi ride in a left-hand drive RS3 Sportback that had been specially modified. The race-bred car came with many exclusive parts including racing seats, a roll cage, huge eight-pot brakes as well as a gigantic spoiler on its back. Participants also had their own fun at the wheel of the high-performance RS6 Avant and R8 Spyder.

Last but not least, the new TT was put through its paces in a thrilling track environment. Equipped with Audi's state-of-the-art quattro technology, the car handles, rides and steers with precision and ease. Participants had a chance to experience what total control felt like with the agile sports coupe, even if it meant going head on around a sharp corner at higher speeds than usual.
After an energetic session on the tarmac, a massage session was the order of the day and thankfully, participants were granted a back and shoulder or hand massage at the Massage Therapy area, subject to reservation.
