Expansion plan for bus interchanges in Sengkang and Tampines

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has called a tender for expansion works for Sengkang and Tampines bus interchanges. Up to 12 bus bays will be added to each bus interchange to accommodate more buses and commuters.
Works are scheduled to be completed by third and fourth quarter of next year for Sengkang bus interchange and Tampines bus interchange respectively. The extension to Sengkang bus interchange will be built along Compassvale Road, while the expansion for Tampines bus interchange will be along Tampines Concourse.
The plan will support the Government's Bus Service Enhancement Programme, which aims to put 1,000 new buses on the road by 2017.
