EZ-Link will cease season travel pass scheme from next year

EZ-Link has announced that it will cease its EZ-Link travel pass scheme from 2015. The travel pass scheme started in 2009 and offers commuters unlimited bus rides as well as up to four train trips, daily, at $170 a month. According to The Straits Times, which spoke to the EZ-Link company, the firm revealed that it will work towards delivering value, convenience and ease of travel to commuters in other ways.

Existing season pass holders can continue to purchase monthly passes until the 1^st of December and weekly passes until the 25^th of December. From next year, they can continue to use the season pass as a normal EZ-Link card by adding stored value into the EZ-Link purse.

The English daily also revealed that commuters currently have a cheaper alternative to the EZ-Link season pass - a $120 adult monthly pass that was introduced back in April - under the recommendation of the Fare Review Mechanism Committee.
