Following the hike in toll charges across the Causeway, two Singapore-Johor bus services are raising their fares.
From next Monday, Handal Indah, which runs the Causeway Link bus service between Johor and Singapore, will increase its fares by $0.80. Passengers who use cash will have to pay $3.30, up from $2.50 now.
Speaking to The Straits Times, Handal Indah's Station Manager in Singapore, Mr. Johnny Low, explained that fares have not been increased drastically for around 10 years before the current hike.
This round of fare revisions started when the Singapore-Johore Express, which is also operating at Queen Street, raised its fare from $2.50 to $3.
All companies that operate cross-border bus services, including Advance Coach, SBS Transit, SMRT and Transtar Travel, must submit their fare revision applications to the Public Transport Council.
