The Fiat Punto Evo Abarth has been given a thorough makeover, with its 1.4-litre MultiAir engine tuned to churn out 162bhp. The addition of a large Garrett turbo also increases torque to 250Nm. This allows the Punto Evo Abarth to go from 0-100km/h in 7.9 seconds. Abarth has plans to create an even sportier Punto Evo Abarth SS model, with 178bhp, 18-inch wheels and high performance brakes.
The new Punto Evo Abarth also has a new performance mode selection system which lets the driver choose between Sport and Normal driving modes. The Torque Transfer Control (TTC) is said to improve the torque transfer from the engine to the wheels, thus improving handling.
Abarth has also given the Punto Evo a makeover on the outside, with a wider front bumper, a deeper intake cowl for improved aerodynamics, a redesigned rear bumper, an air diffuser and larger twin tailpipes. The interior has been fitted with new race-inspired graphics and larger dials.
The 500C Abarth meanwhile has a 1.4-litre Turbo T-Jet engine that produces 138bhp and 206Nm of torque, enabling it to go from 0-100km/h in 8.1 seconds. Power is sent to the front wheels via a standard six-speed automated manual gearbox with paddle shifters. The suspension has also been tuned, with the 500C Abarth getting a new Macpherson front suspension.
The 500C Abarth also has an all new body kit that features new front and rear bumpers, side skirts, a roof spoiler with a third brake light incorporated and a rear diffuser that integrates the twin tail pipes, with new 17-inch alloy wheels completing the body kit.
Abarth also offers two new colours for the folding electric fabric top, black or titanium gray, and three new exterior colour schemes, one in black and race white and the other in two different shades of grey. The interior of the 500C Abarth gets a thick-rimmed sports steering wheel, unique decorative trim, a pair of body-hugging front sport seats and a modified instrument panel.
