Forland debuts in Singapore with new S1 light electric truck

Forland Singapore, represented by local distributor Liannex Ecotech, recently made its first public appearance in Singapore at the 2026 Singapore Motor Show, unveiling three all-electric commercial models: The Forland ET5, Forland S1, and Forland U7.

At its first-ever Singapore Motor Show appearance, Forland took the opportunity to launch its Forland S1 10-ft electrick truck, designed to enable zero emissions logistics without compromising payload, usability, or operating practicality.

The smaller G-plate ET5 was also displayed alongside its larger S1 sibling; both trucks have been fully homologated and are ready for interested parties to purchase. Forland also showcased its U7 electric truck, though the unit on display was a preview-only left-hand drive vehicle, with a scheduled launch within the third quarter of 2026.

While Forland may be a new name to local buyers, it is by no means a new company. Instead, it counts itself as part of the larger Foton Group, and stands out as one of the brands helping to contribute to its parent company's dominance in the light truck segment.

The Forland S1 is also the product of efficient powertrain engineering, striking a careful balance between performance and efficiency. The truck is propelled by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 134bhp and 270Nm of torque, enabling strong load-carrying capability.

Rather than relying on an oversized battery, Forland's engineering philosophy ensures each component is fit for purpose - delivering both capability and efficiency.

Attention to build quality also contributes to improved NVH performance, reducing squeaks, rattles, and wind noise commonly found in trucks of its segment.

Best of all, despite its payload capability, the Forland S1 maintains a compact footprint, measuring just 4,995mm long, 1,970mm wide and 1,985mm tall, making it easy to weave around urban environments and fit into most carparks in Singapore. There's more good news still: Since the S1 is classified as a Class 3 vehicle and has an unladen weight of 1,800kg, drivers should have no issue accessing HDB season parking.

As evidence of the confidence that its local dealer has both the longevity of the Forland S1 itself and also its battery, the truck is sold in Singapore with a 10-year battery warranty (or 500,000km, whichever comes first), as well as a five-year vehicle warranty (or 200,000km, whichever comes first).

Furthermore, to further support fleet electrification, the Forland S1 is eligible for Singapore's Heavy Vehicle Zero Emissions Scheme (HVZES), which provides buyers with up to $40,000 in savings.
