Embraced by much of Asia today, Formula Drift was first introduced here in 2008. To celebrate the journey and efforts of the team over the years, a commemorative eighth anniversary photo book has been put together to document the remarkable success of Formula Drift's contributions in growing the sport in Asia.
Established on the streets of Japan, the sport of drifting has evolved into a worldwide competitive sport that challenges each driver's driving ability and vehicle control. Drifters are judged based on their angle, line, speed and style as they coax their vehicle sideways.
Printed in limited copies, the book showcases memorable moments of the various Formula Drift Asia events since the first one held in Singapore. Headquartered in the Republic, Formula Drift Asia has since expanded to Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.
Featuring 80 pages of exclusive photos shot by renowned motorsport photographer Larry Chen with the support of local photography crew, the limited edition Formula Drift Asia commemorative photo book was launched at Shaw House Urban Plaza with a photo exhibition and a charity drive for youth-at-risk. Chen also made a special appearance at the launch, sharing insight about his experience in capturing high-speed sideway action of Formula Drift.
Printed on high-quality photo paper with hard copy binding, all gross proceeds from sales at the launch will be donated to CampVision, a volunteer-driven group reaching out to youth-as-risk, supported by the South East Community Development Council (CDC).
Held in conjunction with Shaw House Pte Ltd and Dunlop Tyres, the photo exhibition was free for public viewing over two days on 27th and 28th September from 12:00pm to 8:00pm.
