Fully electric MINI Cooper gets five-star Euro NCAP rating

With the requirements in the Euro NCAP tests becoming stricter year after year, a top rating of five stars is not common in the supermini segment, and is usually given exclusively to new vehicles providing excellent impact protection and a good range of comprehensive and practical technology for accident avoidance. MINI’s fully electric Cooper models, however, have managed to achieve just that: A full five-star Euro NCAP safety rating.
Thanks to its fully electric drivetrain, go-kart feeling, and now certified high level of safety, the fifth-generation, three-door MINI Cooper model is perfectly equipped to handle the demands of today's urban mobility.
In addition to passive and active safety, the top rating in the current Euro NCAP test is also due to effective protection for pedestrians and cyclists, as well as effective systems for accident avoidance. New is the standard pelvic belt pretensioner in all fully electric MINI Cooper models, too.
In the four major safety areas, the MINI Cooper models achieved top values for their segment, with a safety compliance rate of 89% in terms of occupant protection, which also applies to the 87% in child safety and 79% in safety assistants, as well as 77% in pedestrian protection.
The extensive standard equipment with safety-relevant driver assistance systems also plays a decisive role in the top ratings, with the passive safety further developed in the form of an integrated safety concept.
The new MINI Countryman also achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating in December 2024, underscoring the brand's claim to not to only produce attractive, but also safe vehicles.
