He said, "We are determined to repeat what CTS has already achieved in design, quality, driving dynamics, performance and fuel economy to grow our presence in this high-volume and highly competitive segment."
Other new models to the Cadillac lineup include a new SRX off-roader, with two new engines, a 3.0 litre direct injection V6 and a 2.8 litre turbocharged V6. A CTS Sport Wagon is also in the works, which will have up to 1523 litres of boot space.
Chevrolet will also get new models, with the much-hyped Volt electric vehicle leading the charge. Other Chevy models to follow include the Equinox SUV and an all new Camaro, which will return after an absence of seven years.
Buick will also have a completely redesigned LaCrosse luxury sedan out, which will boast "advanced, intelligent personal technologies and safety features", and feature a 2.4 litre V6 engine. A compact crossover SUV is also expected to join the range in 2010, with a hybrid version to follow soon after.
Finally, GM's off-roader brand GMC will launch an all new Terrain to revitalise the flagging brand. GMC is expected to shift its focus to improving fuel economy in order to win back customers, but promises not to dilute the muscular and chunky styling of its off-roaders.
