Goodwood Revival to celebrate John Surtees

Goodwood has announced that it will celebrate the career of racing legend John Surtees - to this day the only person to win World Championships on two and four wheels - at the 2024 Goodwood Revival.

2024 marks 60 years since Surtees won his Formula One World Championship and would have seen the eight-time world champion celebrate his 90^th birthday.

Goodwood was also where Surtees tested a car for the first time and was additionally the location where he made his four-wheeled debut in a Formula Junior Cooper, racing for Ken Tyrrell a year later at the 39^th Members' Meeting in March 1960 where he finished a close second to Jim Clark. Surtees also became a patron of the very first Goodwood Festival of Speed in 1993 when he utilised his extensive contacts to organise the motorcycle classes for the event. He would return to race and entertain visitors at the early Goodwood revivals.

The tribute to John Surtees will include everything from 250cc, 350cc and 500cc motorcycles to Grand Prix winners, unlimited sports cars and GTs.
