GrabCab to launch in July 2025 with Toyota Prius taxis

GrabCab has announced that it will be officially launching its services in July 2025 and starting out with 40 cabs, as first reported by The Straits Time and subsequently, CNA.
On the GrabRental website, the latest-generation Toyota Prius Hybrid can be seen available for rent. In addition, Grab is also running a June holiday promo from 31 May to 6 June 2025 for both the 2018 and 2021 Prius+ Hybrid, with offers of up to 25 to 80 free rental days and $600 to $2,600 in fuel vouchers.
As previously reported in April 2025, this will see GrabCab become the sixth taxi operator in Singapore. This means that GrabCab will have to ensure that its taxis are easily identifiable by street-hail customers, and are approved by the LTA, as well as follow the same taxi fare structure components as other street-hail operators.
