Borneo Motors Singapore (BMS) has extended its partnership with GrabRentals, the vehicle rental arm of Grab to provide Total-Care Service for GrabRentals' Toyota fleet from 2022 to 2025. BMS will be partnering with GrabRentals to collect telematics data which is then sent to a system in BMS that triggers warning alerts on potentially dangerous scenarios.
BMS will monitor and maintain the GrabRentals fleet's performance with preventive maintenance and timely car delivery. The technology also provides pre-emptive capability to ensure that the fleet is travelling safely. BMS will also provide the Toyota Production System, a vehicle maintenance system that cuts downtime from an industry standard of 70 minutes to just 30 minutes and vehicle breakdown rates to just 0.7% from 3% which is the industry standard.
GrabRentals hirer-partners will also get prompts from BMS to come back for regular servicing, easing drivers' burden to track their maintenance schedule. Through the system and partnership, they will also attain increased vehicle reliability on the road, reducing the probability of insurance claims. A faster vehicle turnaround time will ensure greater efficiency with the number of trips made in a day.
The hirer-partners will play a key role in the feedback loop with their comments on the cars being essential in ensuring the data captured is accurate. This information is sent to Toyota's dashboard which allows the BMS team to identify the issues and quickly mitigate risks. The system essentially helps improve the driving experience and makes partners accountable for their driving.
