Haas has become the final team to announce the launch date for its 2021 campaign, with the American squad set to unveil its new livery on 4 March 2021. The VF-21 will be Gene Haas' sixth Formula One car, continuing a strong relationship with Ferrari that sees them take the power unit and all non-listed parts from the Scuderia.
Haas has opted for an all new rookie lineup this year, replacing Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean with Formula Two champion Mick Schumacher and Formula Two rival Nikita Mazepin. The team will be hoping to improve on a ninth place finish in the constructors' championship in 2020 - its equal-worst ever performance.
Haas will not fire up its new car until it gets to Bahrain in March for pre-season testing, due to restrictions on the movement of people because of COVID-19. Team boss Guenther Steiner admitted the move was not ideal, but remained optimistic as the stability in the design - with so much carryover of parts from last year to this campaign - minimises the risk.
The Thursday launch will come one day after Aston Martin reveal its new car and a day before Williams becomes the final team to launch their 2021 campaign.
