High speed chase driver slapped with eight charges

31-year old, Song Seng Tze, who was arrested on Monday evening after a 15km high speed police chase was charged in a traffic court earlier today for offences including speeding, dangerous driving and driving under disqualification.
Song, who is self-employed, was driving at 110km/h - over the 70km/h limit - along the Kallang-Paya Lebar Expressway (KPE) on Monday evening and failed to stop when ordered by a uniformed police officer along Tampines Expressway (TPE). He continued his reckless driving at alarming speeds to the Marina Boulevard via the ECP, where he collided with a stationary police motorcycle and two police cars.
On top of the speeding charges, Song was also accused of driving under a 10-year driving ban - that was imposed from July 2010, driving without insurance coverage, failing to stop when his car was involved in a collision with the police cars and failing to render assistance.
An additional absent without official leave (AWOL) charge was also slapped on Song from his full-time national service duties at the Singapore Civil Defence (SCDF) from November 2011 to March this year.
He is out on a $20,000 bail and is due in court on April 18th.
