Hyundai concludes 2023 Hyundai World Skill Olympics

Hyundai Motor Company has hosted its 2023 Hyundai World Skill Olympics.
This year's iteration of the biennial event was the first in the last four years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and saw a total of 138 participants, comprising of 75 technicians and 63 supervisors from a total of 56 countries. These contestants were selected after local competitions at either a national or regional level.
This year's competition saw a total of 138 participants being assessed in their respective area of expertise, as well as in a new test conducted in virtual reality
Held at the Hyundai Cheonan Global Learning Centre and Novotel Seoul Yongsan Hotel in Korea, the competition saw the contestants competing in a series of written and practical tests that assessed their knowledge in the area of their expertise, whether it be internal combustion engine vehicles, electric vehicles, or commercial vehicles. This year also saw the introduction of a new test conducted in virtual reality.
The competition ended with Hyundai Motor crowning Haydar Ali from Indonesia as the 2023 World Skill Olympics Grand Champion. Hyundai Motor also awarded outstanding contestants in each category with gold, silver and bronze medals. In total, the 2023 World Skill Olympics produced a Grand Champion, three gold medallists, six silver medallists and seven bronze medallists.
All participants also had a chance to visit tourist attractions in Seoul, including Gyeongbokgung Palace. They also visited the Motorstudio Goyang museum, the Hyundai Motor Asan Factory, and Hyundai Steel Company's Gwangyang Steelworks.
